What is the "Buy Leads" program?

Our Buy Leads program allows you to purchase leads for your product or service. We will place your ad on our network of publishers, collect the data you require, and send you leads of those who express interest. Leads are always opt-in only, meaning the person will have explicitly requested to hear from you. We can collect and send any piece of data you require (i.e. email address, name, phone number, date of birth, etc.), and you pay only for leads you receive.

How much does it cost?

You set your own price, though our minimum price per lead starts at $0.28. The optimal cost varies by factors including data points required, targeting, vertical, etc. You may need to increase your bid to get the volume you desire. In order to buy leads, you must have a paid subscription to ConnX. Subscription pricing can be found on our pricing page.

What is a transfer credit?

Campaigns & Ads

Generating Leads

Once you have a paid subscription to ConnX, and fund your account, you can begin generating Leads as soon as your first ad is approved. Click the "Buy Leads" button to get started. Check out our New Ad Setup Guide for more details.


The number of Leads you can generate for your Ad is limited by your budget and by your selected audience. In general, an Ad will generate leads more quickly the broader the audience and the higher the daily budget is. If you pay more than the minimum Cost Per Lead, your Ad is likely to receive increased traffic, causing it to generate Leads more quickly.


Use Campaigns to keep your Ads organized. Each Ad must be assigned to one Campaign, but there is no limit to the number of Ads assigned to a Campaign. You will never receive duplicate Leads for the same Ad, or for Ads that are in the same Campaign.


The Ad is the advertisement that gets shown to the website visitor. Check out our New Ad Setup Guide for an introduction to Ad setup.

When you create an Ad, you will be prompted to assign it to an existing Campaign or create a new Campaign. You can assign multiple Ads to a single Campaign. There is no limit to the number of Ads you can assign to a Campaign.

You can pinpoint the geographic reach of your Ad by selecting the zip codes, states or countries where your Ad will be displayed. We will display your Ad on websites and mobile apps in the ConnX publisher network.

Once your Ad is approved, you'll be able to schedule when your Ad is displayed. You can set a start date, end date, and have your ad turn on and off at specific days and times throughout the week with a Custom Ad Schedule.

All Ads require approval before being displayed. When your Ad is approved you will receive an email. You can turn off an Ad at anytime.

Data Points

Data Points are the pieces of information you receive for each Lead you generate, like First Name, Email Address, and Phone Number.


We recommend you select only Data Points which will directly contribute to your Campaign goals. Generally, the more data points you include, the lower your volume will be which may require you to increase your bid.

You can add or remove Data Points at any time.

Targeting Audiences

You can choose a unique target audience for each Ad you create, and you will be prompted to select a target audience when you create an Ad. Keep in mind that the narrower the audience you target, the fewer people will see your Ad. You can make changes to your audience targeting at any time. We currently support targeting by gender, age, state, postal code, and country. Contact our support team if you have further requirements, since we may be able to acommodate more detailed targeting on a case by case basis.


Changing Cost Per Lead and budget settings

You can change your Cost Per Lead (CPL) and budget settings at any time in the Objectives section of your Ad. CPL and Budget changes, go into effect immediately and do not require approval.


Choosing the optimal Cost Per Lead (CPL) depends on the Data Points you are collecting, content of the Ad, and audience targeting.


Daily Budget: the amount of Leads you would like to generate, or dollars you would like to spend per day. Keep in mind you may go slightly over this amount once in a while based on the audience size and popularity of the offer.

Monthly Budget: the amount of Leads you would like to generate, or dollars you would like to spend per month. A month is based on the actual calendar month. On the first day of the new month your monthly budget will reset and you will begin to generate Leads again.


Turning off your Campaign or Ad

You can turn off a Campaign or Ad by navigating to Campaign or Ad list, selecting the Campaign or Ad, and choosing edit under the Actions menu. Turning off your Campaign will turn off all Ads associated with that Campaign. If you turn the Campaign back on, you will need to turn on each of the Ads. Both the Campaign and the Ad must be "On" for the Ad to generate Leads.

Lead Transfer

Receiving Leads

After setting up your Ad, you will tell us the most convenient delivery method for your Leads. This is called a ConnXion. We can deliver Leads directly into your email marketing platform, like Mailchimp or Constant Contact. We can also send Leads on a daily basis in a variety of different formats, including email, FTP, and .CSV Files.

Quick ConnXions

Depending on the platform you are using, we may already have an integration built so you can easily receive Leads directly to your email marketing platform. You can also use a Quick ConnXion to send leads to you by email in real time, or receive a daily file by email or FTP. Following is a list of our integration partners. Transfer Credits

Transfer credits are used towards sending a lead to your destination (i.e. Mailchimp, Constant Contact, etc.) in real time.

Credit Types

There are two types of transfer credits - "included" and "unrestricted". Types of transfer credits are defined by the source where the lead came from. Every ConnX plan has 25,000 credits that can be used to transfer leads from included sources. An included source is any source other than the ConnX network of publishers ("Buy Leads" program).

An "unrestricted" transfer credit is used towards a lead generated from any source. A lead generated from our "Buy Leads" program will go against an "unrestricted" transfer credit. If you exceed your 25,000 limit from included sources, additional leads from these sources will also go against your "unrestricted" transfer credits.

For example, if you are using the "Buy Leads" program, are configured to deliver leads to your Mailchimp account in real time, and are on a plan that offers 500 unrestricted credits per month, you will reach your limit once you generate 500 leads for the given calendar month.

Limit Remedy Options

You have two choices to decide what happens when you exceed your limit - auto disable and auto upgrade. You can configure this on your profile page.

  • Disable: If you are set to "Disable", we will stop sending leads to your destination in real time. Leads will still continue to be saved from your sources. To retrieve your leads you can either create a daily batch destination, wait until the following month when your credits reset, or you can upgrade your account to increase your credits
  • Auto-Upgrade: If your account is set to "Auto Upgrade", we will attempt to upgrade your account to the next tier within your plan type. For example, if you are currently on a Standard plan with 5,000 credits per month, we will attempt to upgrade you to a Standard plan with 10,000 credits.

For any leads you did not receive in real time due to exceeding the limit, our support team can retrieve these for you once you upgrade. Simply submit a support ticket. We can send you a file with your leads, or we can submit these directly to your marketing platform using your defined ConnXion.

Account Management

Changing your password

You can change your password at any time. To do so, visit My Profile.

Receiving announcements and notifications

You can change the email address we send announcements and notifications to in My Profile. You should monitor your notifications area (look for the bell icon on the top right of your screen) and your email to ensure you are fully up to date.


Making Payments

Payment Requirements and Structure

Credit card is our standard method of payment. When enrolling in our Buy Leads program, you will be prompted to enter your credit card details.

A minimum initial payment of $50 is required to activate your account. This amount serves as a pre-payment for the leads you will receive. Our system is designed to ensure you're always ready to capture opportunities by automatically refilling your account with the same pre-funding amount once your balance depletes. This ensures an uninterrupted flow of your leads.

You may change your pre-funding amount at any time by going to My Profile > Manage Subscription > Buy Leads Program > Update Recurring Payment Amount. You can update or modify your credit card information at any time at My Profile > Billing Information.

The 5 T's for a Successful Campaign


Define your audience. If your business is local, make sure you reach potential subscribers in the relevant ZIP codes. Decide if you want both males and females and what age range is most likely to be your customer. ConnX will prompt you to select appropriate targeting as you set up an Ad.


Tailor your Ad copy (Headline and Description) and Ad image to your target audience. For example, you may want to display different Ad copy to males versus females or people in their 20s versus 30s. Be clear and concise in your messaging. Most importantly, be honest and straightforward in order to generate interest from people who genuinely want what you are offering.


Begin your Campaign slowly. Limit (cap) the number of subscribers you’ll receive per day. Capping your Ads at the beginning will give you time to evaluate your results. You may want to experiment with different Ad copy and images. Once you are satisfied with the Leads you are generating, you will be ready to increase your caps.


Track your new Leads to see how often they are making purchases and taking other actions that provide value to your business or organization. Tracking these actions will provide insight into the Ad targeting and messaging that is most effective. We recommend sending email to your new Leads from an email marketing platform that provides easy-to-use tracking tools.


Tend your Leads like a garden. You should contact your Lead immediately, and you should make at least 3 attempts to contact them within the first 7 days of receiving a new Lead. It’s best to strike while the iron is hot. And don’t give up if a Lead doesn’t make a purchase after one or two weeks. ConnX users report Leads turning into paying customers weeks or even months down the road. Keep sending newsletters and special promotional emails – the Leads are yours to keep, so use them!
